Bandleader Doug Sons sings vocals and plays guitar in the band that he named in honor of his
Grandfather who was an American Native of the Creek tribe. Although born in Fresno, Doug grew up the son of a career
U.S. Naval Officer, and grew up in Hawaii and Escondido, Ca. After serving in the U.S. Navy himself, Doug went to
night school to earn his college degree, becoming a manufacturing Engineer. A self-taught musician, Doug plays
guitar, drums, and piano, though the guitar is his first love. His biggest influence was The King, Elvis Presley.
Doug has played in many bands throughout his travels, and enjoys playing for people who like to make music and
dancing a part of their enjoyment. Married to the love of his life, Patricia, with 3 grown children and 2
grandchildren, Doug enjoys the laid-back atmosphere of country living.
Bass Player Jim "Thunder Dragon" Taylor retired as Kingsburg's Police Chief in 2005. He is married to
his high school sweetheart, Barbara. They have 6 grown children & 2 grandchildren. They serve together as volunteer
Chaplains with the Fresno County Sheriff's Department assigned to patrol and local schools. Jim began his music career with
8 years of piano lessons as a child. He got hooked on rock & roll listening to the Rolling Stones and taught himself to
play bass and guitar which he played in his own rock bands throughout high school and college. He served in the US Army
and is a Viet Nam Veteran. Upon discharge from the army he began a 14 year career with the Tulare Police Department. He
joined a local cop band, 6 Pack & A Half Pint, as a drummer and they played locally for 12 years. His biggest music thrill
has been watching his drummer son Daren's band, The Airborne
Toxic Event, perform on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Late Night with David Letterman.
Guitarist Dan Greer has more than 40 years of music experience and started playing guitar
at fourteen. At the age of 16 he joined the band Blue Odyssey, and began playing clubs and parties on a
weekly basis from Visalia to Merced. From there he along with two other Blue Odyssey band member started a new
band called ‘The Shooz’ and began playing clubs in Fresno and Madera. This band had a younger New Wave/Rock sound
and soon became a CSU Fresno favorite, playing weekly at the campus pub 'The Bucket' and many other campus
parties and Fresno Clubs. In 1981 he went on to write and record an original single 'Tell Me What You Mean'
and changed their name to Freeway. After the breakup of Freeway in 1983 Dan joined several other bands
playing anything from Rock to Country and Rockabilly. Being influenced by early Steely Dan with Jeff 'Skunk' Baxter
on lead and steel guitar, Dan found an old used '59 Fender 1000 pedal steel guitar and learned to play it giving
most bands he's in a special sound. His guitar of choice is his '77 Fender Strat (hardtail) but also plays
'74 20th anniversary Gibson Les Paul Custom all through his '80 Fender 75w (Tube) amplifier. Dan and his wife
Catherine live happily in Old Fig Garden with his guitars and her fabrics and yarn (we booted the kids out!).
Drummer Scotty Richardson and his wife of 20 years, Kandee, live in Fresno. He was taught to play
by his father, Robert, at age 9. He first performed on stage in a 6th grade talent show with the Crystal Sea. He played in the concert band in

school, his past bands include Crossroads, Popular Mechanics, Neighborhood Watch, The Dog, and Catwalk. Throughout this
time he performed at local venues such as The Wild Blue Yonder, Olympic Tavern, Old Town Saloon, and the Star Palace.
Scotty’s biggest musical influences were his father, along with Steve Gadd, Jeff Porcaro, Ringo Starr and the Beatles. His
most memorable musical experiences were seeing Jeff Beck play theWarner’s Theatre in 1985 and Paul McCartney play in San
Francisco.
