Fresno Weavers & Spinners

"Dedicated to all aspects of fiber and textiles"

We are often asked:

"Why do you weave? Why do you spin?"

For some, it's a hobby, like sewing, tying flies or baking bread. For some, it's also a form of art. Creating something "from scratch" is satisfaction unmatched. But whatever the reason, when you love what you're doing, time is not a factor.

The members of the Spinners and Weavers Guild have many sources for ideas and motivation:

  • Conference of Northern California Handweavers (CNCH) meets annually to bring together members and nationally known instructors/artists and vendors. Members of the guild are also members of CNCH.
  • A small guild library of various books and magazines.
  • Workshops including
    • fiber preparation
    • dye and color blending
    • spinning
    • weaving fabric, rugs, baskets
  • A fiber-related shop in the Tower District, Ancient Pathways at 1294 N. Wishon, offers lessons and supplies related to fiber.
